Arsene Wenger could be on the verge of a return to football, with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain reportedly keen to hire the former Arsenal boss as their new director of football.
Wenger has been enjoying some time off after leaving Arsenal last summer, following a remarkable 22-year spell in charge of the north London club.
But the Frenchman could soon be back in football, with RMC reporting that PSG want him to work alongside current boss Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has led PSG to nine straight victories in Ligue 1 after taking over from Unai Emery – who replaced Wenger at Arsenal.
But the German is reportedly clashing with sporting director Antero Henrique, with Wenger the man PSG have earmarked to bridge the gap between the manager and the boardroom.
Should the Frenchman join the Parc des Princes club, he will be working alongside Kylian Mbappe, who has been likened to Wenger’s former striker Thierry Henry.
The 19-year-old has already won the World Cup with France and was this week featured on the front cover of Time magazine.
The teenager said: ‘My life has been totally turned upside down. I am happy, and I am living the life I always dreamed of.
‘I think I might have missed out on something. I did not have the moments of so-called normal people during adolescence, like going out with friends, enjoying good times.’
