Former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye believes almost all the delegates of the GFA delegates are in the pocket of incumbent President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The CAF First Vice President is rumoured to be reconsidering his decision to contest for the GFA President for a 5th term despite saying on a record 5th time that he won’t seek re-election.
Nyantakyi’s Vice President George Afriyie has also declared his intentions to contest for the seat in 2019.
A ring of Executive Committee members has publicly declared that they want Nyantakyi to seek re-election.
While GFA Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has said there’s pressure on the Wa All Stars bankroller to contest again.
While public opinion is against Nyantakyi former Ghana Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has stated most of the delegates are in the pocket of Nyantakyi who can always buy his way to power.
“Most of the delegates are in his [Nyantakyi] pocket. He can win the elections as much as he wants because he has positioned them in roles to always vote for him,” he told UTV.
123 delegates votes in the Ghana FA elections.
Meanwhile, there’s huge public outcry and pressure on Nyantakyi to exit the scene.
