The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman has called the bluff of suspended General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, saying he will not apologise for his comments deemed “unsavoury.”
Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, dared the former NPP General Secretary to head to court if he is convinced that he has disparaged his reputation.
The outspoken NPP Regional Chairman reportedly told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM Tuesday, Mr Agyepong was a puppet of the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) last year.
He said the suspended General Secretary received a plush vehicle from Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, to work against the political fortunes of the then opposition NPP.

But Mr Agyepong has described the statement as scandalous and slanderous that impugned his high-earned reputation.
He said he has never been a traitor and will never be.
In a letter dated October 30, lawyers of the suspended General Secretary asked Chairman Wontumi to cease and desist from making further spurious claims against their client.
They also demanded a retraction and apology for the “defamatory and false statements” through the same platform the Regional Chairman communicated his message.
But Chairman Wontumi rather chose to repeat the same allegation against Mr Agyepong on Wednesday, maintaining the NDC was using him against the NPP.
Why should I apologise? NDC wanted to use Kwabena Agyepong [and] why now, why now? he said in Twi.
Mr Wontumi said he is ready for any court action that will be initiated against him, adding he will mock the suspended General Secretary if he does not sue him.
